Groomer

We are trying to hire 2 positions for this winter. I know it is late, but we had some medical issues come up that had the new groomers we hired to back out. As a Cross Country Ski Trail Groomer, you are responsible for preparing and maintaining a safe and functional skiing surface for cross country skiers of all skill levels, and using grooming equipment to maintain the world renound trails of Enchanted Forest.

Responsibilities

§ Working with your Manager to determine daily grooming plan.

§ Operating snowmobile and UTV vehicle with track systems with grooming attachments.

· Perform preventative and routine maintenance of grooming equipment.

· Use basic hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.

· Shovel and sweep snow and operate snow blowers as needed.

· Inspect trail conditions and make recommendations for usage and maintenance.

· Make ski trail recommendations to guests based on safety and skier ability.

· Demonstrate an outgoing and friendly personality while interacting with guests and co-workers.

· Work productively and efficiently with or without supervision.

· Inspect the work of others for conformance to standards.

· Perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, bending, and walking in snow.

· Maintain a flexible work schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures.

· Handle change and pressure situations calmly and effectively.

· Carry a two-way portable radio for communication during emergencies.

· Communicate effectively with guests and staff.

· Ability to operate grooming equipment and snowmobiles safely.

· CPR and First Aid Certification preferred. We can also train.

· Identifying snowmobile mechanical issues and reporting to your Manager.

· Proper storage of equipment.

· Reporting grooming progress updates to your Manager.

· Perform minor equipment maintenance on grooming equipment and snowmobiles.

· Conduct trail and sign maintenance as needed.

· Completing assigned work within established timeframes.

· Promote cross-country skiing, snowshoeing experiences while interacting with guests.

Qualifications

This position may be for you if:

· You are at least 18 years old.

· You have experience operating a snowmobile or ATV.

· Must be comfortable with and have clothing for working outside in extreme winter conditions.

· Must be a team player willing to help other departments as needed.

· Must be willing to accommodate flexible work hours and assignments surrounding events.

· You enjoy working outside in various weather conditions.

· You are available to work early mornings on days, weekends, and holidays.

· Previous Nordic skiing experience would be helpful.

· Attention to detail is a must.

Compensation

· Starting pay $18 for trial period.

· Final Hourly wage of $20.00+ with raises for experience/performance.

· Opportunity to work in a scenic outdoor environment.

· Experience in a seasonal role at a Americas #6 XC Ski resort.
